Kristen C. Lu
Kristen Lu joined Mullen and Filippi's Orange office in 2019 as an Associate Attorney. Kristen has practiced workers' compensation law since 2008, save a brief time practicing consumer bankruptcy. Prior to working at Mullen and Filippi, Kristen worked at a large applicant attorney's firm in Long Beach. She also worked as in-house counsel for one of the largest insurance companies in the United States, and as a defense attorney for a large workers' compensation defense firm. Kristen has practiced throughout Southern California and is familiar with the WCAB judges and counsels on both sides of the spectrum.
Kristen received her Bachelor's Degree in Political Science with minors in Philosophy and Asian American Studies in 2004. She went on to earn her law degree from the Western State University College of Law in 2007. While in law school, Kristen clerked for her school's family law clinic, which inspired her to assist in pro bono work at the Orange County Public Law Center after becoming an attorney.
Kristen is a member of the State Bar of California.
I enjoy the ever-changing nature of workers' compensation law, as there are few dull moments. Having already had experience for years in workers' compensation defense, as both a panel attorney and in-house counsel, working the applicant side helped me grow as an attorney and understand the difficulties of both sides of the spectrum. I feel my experience with both the applicant and defense sides will allow me to work closely with clients to bring files to resolution quickly. I firmly believe that the best file is a closed file.
I believe life is what you make of it. I enjoy traveling with my family, to new places and familiar ones. I enjoy quiet evenings and candlelit dinners on my balcony with my family, including two Ragdoll cats, Maui and Lilikoi.
